Raided my e-mail contact list, Sent out e-mail in my name without my knowledge

Miscellaneous

The forms for joining were confusing. I thought I was given a choice to have all my e-mail contacts automatically brought over, or to bring them over "manually" (their word). Not wanting any strange, new program to go into my personal records, I chose 'manually'. Pressed 'Next'. Their engine went into my e-mail and brought over all my contacts. That wasn't bad enough. Within an hour I received a reply from one of those contacts answering an e-mail I never sent,
but which was worded to deceive the respondent into thinking I was sending an inquiry.

Apparently, this site not only raids your personal records against your orders, but it decides to send out prewritten letters to individuals it has chosen
from your records without your knowledge or consent, and deliberately tries to impersonate you. I want all of my contacts expunged from the records of this site and an apology sent to any and all my contacts it has sent such letters to. I am shocked and dismayed at this practice. If this is not considered criminal behavior, it comes close. Piracy. Deception. Impersonation. How dare they!!!

When I tried to send an objection via internet, I found that I was blocked from sending any correspondence until I revealed my credit card number and became a full-fledged
member. What do you call that? The little brother of Extortion?
