Like so many others reporting this scam, the only way that found I could get rid of the advert from my pc every time I started up was to open it. On the face of it, the site was secure ie it displayed the yellow padlock. What it did not show, however, was the 's' suffix in the address.

When I realised my mistake, I guess about ten seconds after thinking I had got rid of the site, I immediately deleted all reference to the site. Too late - the money had already been taken and two e-mails received inviting me to use the unique reference number etc., etc. I also ran a full scan and received the news that 6 files had been corrupted with Fraud. XPAntivirus2009.

That little episode cost me $94.85 (60.75). No amount of e-mails to a variety of different named persons at different e-mail addresses each ostensibly from meyrocorp has generated any sort of a reply. This included mails by reply to the various senders.

From reading other messages on your pages it appears that this is a common scam. Will you please let me have any details that I can pass on the people chasing financial compensation on my behalf? Thank you in anticipation.
