I recevied a letter from Geico Financials Stating that I was randomly chosen as a winner of $100,000 for the Fourth Quarter of 2008 sweepstake draw.
Enclosed with the letter was a Bank of America check for $4,500. The letter had a number to call to activate the check and gave claim numbers.
The first thing I did was check online to see if I could find anything out about the drawing. What I found was a few posts from people around the Country stating how the check and winning claim was not real. Some had tried to cash the check but the check didn't go through.
I wasn't very surprised to find that it was a scam but, I just don't want others to be taken by the false winnings. I wanted to share this so that others can be aware of the scam incase they too are a lucky winner from Geico Financials.
