Stolen email accounts not restored, hackers use them for fraud

Email addresses are being bought and sold illegally for profit, and Yahoo does nothing to give you your account back after it has been reported as stolen or compromised. This is especially true of their fraudulent free accounts.

Hackers get into the accounts and input or remove information from the accounts for fraud or criminal activity, and you take the blame regardless. Most are being used for pornographic materials, opening fraudulent bank accounts, opening fraudulent credit cards and spam.

Contacting Yahoo at abuse@yahoo.com is of no help while you become a victim of identity theft.

Make sure to contact the FBI Internet Crime and the Federal Trade Commission about it as soon as you find out yours has been compromised.
