Readers Digest/Publishers Clearing House
The Fleecing of the Elderly victimized many consumers ripoff

Miscellaneous

My mother in-law Passed away recently. And my wife being an only child, the task of gathering her belongings and cleaning out her home fell to us. The sad experience, soon turned to anger as we discovered hundreds of unopened boxes, magazines and video tapes along with various Nick Knacks. Bills totaling in the thousands of dollars were discovered in a Dresser Drawer. All from Readers Digest and publishers clearing house or there affiliates like the Franklin mint. Along With letters stating you've won 10 million dollars. It Was hard to Understand how she could have incurred such a large debt. Until we found her to be paid pile inside the envelopes were post dated checks just waiting for the month they would be sent, We didn't live in the same city as she, but tried to drive out every month to fill her refrigerator and slip 20 dollars in her purse. The last year of her life she started having garage sales and selling off her things she had for years. We bought as much of it as we could. But it made no sense at the time. Now I understand from the bills and letters from collection agencies even phone calls while we were cleaning out her home why she was doing what she was. What I don't understand is how these companies could continue to send things with her still owing money. Now I can place no blame legally on these companies. But morally they squeezed every last dime she didn't have to spare out of a very sweet Christian lady and I hope Ed Mcman is buried up to his neck in you've one 10 million dollars solicitation mail and forced to write apologies to every one who ever fell for these scams while he serves his time in hell! Please Folks keep an eye on you're parents as they enter there golden years and get involved.
