I got my first checking account in and here in the middle of i got into a jam with some checks, and got a couple of warrents put out on a $4.00 check that I wrote a couple of days prior to the papers getting serve.
I was not in the country at the time so I did not know what was going on. When I have found out that they were going to put me in jail if i dont pay the funds ($954.00), that they will throw me into jail for a year! I know that i broke the law, but a year? If the damn polotics in the state of kansas quit spinning our tax money, then other people (like myself) would have to pay a huge fine.
Then later on, the person that tryed to throw me in jail was nailed on a dui, and got off the hook because he was a polotition. Can anyone explain to me why a person can get off on a dui (driving under the influince) but someone who wrote a bad check must be treated like somone who tryed to kill someone???
I personally think that anyone who is thinking about moving into the state of kansas, should think twice. Someone who has a checking account there in the state of kansas, should be extrememly carfull so they wont treat you like a hard-core criminal.
