Interest rate rip off

As with the other posters regarding Advanta, I too logged into the website to check this month's statement and saw a 25% interest rate; needless to say, I knew what I'd find would turn out to be a bait and switch. As a person with 800 FICO scores, I too called and tried to get a straight answer (and got none). When I did a google search, I found out I was one amongst many who try tried (are trying) to pull a fast one one. Fortunately, I can pay off the balance ($300) and in the end, only lose about $3.00 in interest (25% VS 7.9%).

As a Utahan, I can tell you to beware of many (most) companies doing business here. We are the land of rip-off companies; since this specific report regards Advanta (only) I won't list the others; however, a google search will probably show much of what I say. Our "system" (for lack of a better way to put it); i.E. "industriousness"... And "pull oneself up from their bootstraps" allows these types of companies to flourish. It is unfortunate. It's a black mark on our state.
