Is trying to collect on an account I never had!

I found it on my credit report when I was trying to apply for a re-fi. It said they were trying to collect on a checking account with WAMU. I closed an account with WAMU about 6 years ago, but never owed them money. No contact information was supplied. Where do they get off???
