Fraudulent Magazine scam, Credit Card Fraud

Miscellaneous

There are several reports on here having to do with this company. I am a victim myself, with the same story.

I got a notice in the mail that I was a finalist in a 25 million dollar give away and I called. Once they realized that there was someone at the address with a heartbeat they got my credit card number (which in retrospect I suspect they somehow obtained) I got the whole fake story about being signed up to get a free mens sport watch, and a gift card to walmart for being a 'good walmart customer' and they signed me up for a free 30 day trial for 3 magazines of my choice.

Fast forward 20 days, I got no watch, no gift card and I started recieving 100s of magazines. So many in fact that the post office was holding bundles and bundles of them because they would not fit in my mail box. I called and cancelled. I got a call during work asking how I intended to pay my 300 dollar bill and offering a discount if I paid right away. I explained to them that I had cancelled and that they had made a mistake. I kept getting calls and at more than one point had my bank account charged to the point that my paychecks were getting eaten up by overdraft fees by my bank.

Since then I had called and been assured that my account had been cancelled, and I changed my credit card/bank account number. I thought everything was fine for a while then I started getting collection calls, for the magazine subscriptions and for some other account called Health Benefits club. Evidently they had another $300.00 of charges that I never asked for.

I was quite angry at this point as this had been going on for over a year. I told them in no uncertain terms that if I did not get:

1- my account cancelled forever.
2- all the money they charged me refunded, and
3- no more magazines or phone calls... Ever

I was going to pursue legal action.

Well, I still have not gotten a refund. The magazines have stopped for the most part, I am still getting Star magazine that I found out just tonight I am signed up for till late 2009.

So in response to their blatent disregard for customer service I am looking to organize a class action lawsuit against the entities:

Subscriber Services inc of Arvada CO,
Health Benefits club of Arvada CO
and the CEO of both companies, David E Keown

David E Keown appears to be some piece of work. Check out this site, its a writeup of his venture into Costa Rica and Nicuragua to start a $7,000, 000 hotel chain.

Please reply below with your story so I can get contact information and details for the class action suit. This company has been comitting credit card fraud for a number of years and I am suprised that no one has attempted to sue them yet. I see multiple complaints to the Better Business Bureau of CO and other states but no resolution. I still am seeing blogs and sites like this where people are being victimized almost to this very day.

This has got to stop. Not just for my benefit but for everyone. This company is a multi million dollar monster, and the only way we all are going to get our money back, and get compensated for damages, it seems is for all of us to sue this company, get Mr. Keown extracated back to the United States to stand trial and send a message to the business world, the United States and the world at large that Fraud does not pay. If you steal credit card numbers and vicitmize the American public, you don't drive $100,000.00 cars and sit on the beach and sip mixed drinks for a living, you go to jail, you have your name and your company's name all over the media so everyone in the world knows what an 'Integrity Challenged' individual you are for the rest of your life.

Please everyone respond with your contact information so we can get organized and get our refunds and justice to be done.
