They won't fix a damaged laptop - Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo PA1510 Laptop

My laptop, purchased from Dabs.com in the UK, failed within the warranty period and because of a manufacturing fault.
Because I was two days late reporting it, Fujitsu refused to help me (see review http://usacomplaints.com/review/They-Refuse-to-Honour-the-Warranty-on-a-Laptop-1930).
Initially Dabs agreed to help me - but only I suspect because they hadn't read the information I actually sent them. Now they are trying to claim that I caused the damage.
Fortunately I think the small claims court will see this quite straightforwardly, but it is frustrating to have to take it this far.
