Unauthorized Charges on my billing statement!

Good thing I checked my statement! I had 2 unauthorized charges in the amount of $19.95 each from SHOPPINGESSEN, one dated 7/24 and 8/11. I called the 888 number provided and found out it was a promotion I unknowingly signed up for while signing up for Classmates.com. I told them I had no knowledge of this and demanded the credit immediately. She would only credit one charge, I told her that I was going to file a dispute for the other and get my money back anyway, she quickly transferred me to a supervisor (Shretta ID 16033) where she had no problem refunding me the additional charge. She was very quick to get me off the phone. I called the credit card company anyway to let them know what had happened.

Ironically, those 2 charges put me "over the limit" thus causing me an additional fee of $39.00-after explaining what I had just been through they were kind enough to reverse that charge... PHEW! This just goes to show you, you HAVE to check your statements every month, no one is immune to fraudulent and unauthorized charges! These people at Shopping Essentials Plus are very very sneaky and I am sooooo glad for websites just like this one, it helped me. Thank you!
