On Chris Kick took my $10,000 deposit, last Oct for installation of bulkhead and has never even started work

I gave Chris Kick a $10,000 deposit last Oct (07) for installation of a bulkhead. Weeks went by and nothing was started. We had numerous conversations, with him always promising to start the project soon. This went on for months.

Finally, he admitted he had spent my money but again promising that once he finished this big job he was currently on, he would have the money to get the materials for my bulkhead so he could get started. Again, nothing happened.

Around late spring, I contacted him and told him I wanted my money back as nothing was happening. He said he didn't have the money but I should make up a contract for him to sign where he would pay me back over time.

I had the contract drawn up but when I tried to contact him so I could get him to sign it, you guessed it! He has disappeared completely. His voice mail box is full, the fax line has been disconnected and other numbers I have tried also go unanswered. I did get in touch with someone whose number was listed on his website, but he said he no longer works for Chris and that most of Chris' workers had quit for non-payment of wages.

I am in contact with my lawyer and am pursuing legal action against Chris Kick. I have filed a report with the Houston Better Business Bureau and am filing this on usacomplaints.com in the hopes that others that have been taken in by this scam artist will read this report and contact me so we can try to stop this man from getting anyone elses money.
