This company has been allowed to operate in this great country as a collection agency. They have caused me to loose my home, my marriage, a great paying job, and they have made me sick to my stomach. I took a loan from a predatory lender in 1998. I became aware of the lending status when I tried to negate the loan the next day after reading the contract. I was told I could not! They then sold the loan to Alegis who started with scare tactics. Harassment, etc. They took me to court in 2005 and lost. The judge dismissed the case. I sold my home because even after they lost, they continued to contact me.

Somehow or another, they made contact with the buyers title company and negotiated with them. I recieved nothing at settlement and they agreed, in writing to be paid the principal amount.in they sold the account to another company. This company was located in Buffalo, NY. I later found out they were the same company. I told them the loan was settled. They in turn sold it in 2008 to another company. I sent a debt validation letter and a cease & desist letter. They never responded, but Resurgent Capital Management has began to call again. I did speak with one representative at Resurgent who told me they now have record of my payment, but it no longer a settlement. She stated that they only released the lien against my property, which is no longer my property. I told her that I have the cancelled check and the agreement letter where they stated that they would forego any interest if I paid the principal amount. (which by the way, changes every other letter I get from them) They do not even know who the original debtor is. A superior judge dismissed the case, but I paid them the principal out of my integrity. They now want over $30,000.00.

I want to sue them now. I am on Disability and my income is limited. I live in NJ. I need help! I want every penny I gave them, plus I want punitive, actual, compensatory and statutory damages from them. They are a fraudulent company and try to prey on weak people. I have had enough! I am not giving them one red cent.in fact if a lawyer would take my case I am also going to file a civil lawsuit against them. They have violated every civil and colllection law possible. They have picked the wrong person to harass til death do us part. At first I gave in to these people. Now I am ready to fight to the end.
