I looked on here to find out about this company and found another report. My letter is the exactly the same except that the company issuing the check is different. On the check is Merit Energy Company, 13727 Noel Road, Suite 500, Dallas Texas 75240. The amount on the check is $3,993.00 and the letter divides the money to be used for this assignment as follows: 3 hours probationary training pay @ the rate of $100.00 per hour ($300.00); Funds for shopping or hotel lodging ($200.00); Service charge by Western Union/Moneygram ($173.00); and required funds to be sent ($3,320.00). My coordinator to contact is Ms. Mary Abraham at 1-514-839-7365. My shopping receipts, acceptance form and evaluation sheet are to be faxed to 1-888-370-4624. The signature on the letter is Elizabeth Johnson as the manager of Human Resources. Everything looks authentic, and the promise is that this part-time job as a secret shopper will pay $600.00 a week for the first three months, and then $750.00 per week for another three months if I choose to stay with them.

I have phoned the bank — and the bank is telling me that the company this check is written on is a valid account, but they could not give me any additional information on this. I am still pursuing information and will be back on here again to post as I find more. I have not contacted the coordinator yet, but may do that just to see what their course of action is — since they do list Wal-Mart, Home Depot, J.C. Penney, Best Western and Days-Inn as possible places for evaluation.
