Newport News Clothing Catalog Fashions Bait and Switch Promotion Codes Scam

I ordered from Newport News and entered a promotion code that appeared to be valid since it was accepted during my order summary. Two days later I got an email showing that a different total had been charged to my credit card. I called the company and emailed them to no avail. They stick to the story that it was an invalid code. I told them that the code shouldn't have been accepted during the summary because I proceeded with the sale based on the assumption that I was getting a good deal.

I felt cheated so I told them that I wanted to cancel the order and at that point they told me they couldn't do it because it was being processed. I thought it was a lot of baloney so I added that they needed to provide some kind of statement to let people know that the total might change upon further verification. At least that way there was total disclosure.

They ignored me so I took it up with my credit card company. They suggested that I refuse delivery and keep the tracking number for my records. We'll see what happens. I, for one, will never recommend this company to anyone because I think they're shady and scam artists.
