On June 26, I signed up with AHA because I was assured by Stephen, X130, that I could use my own dentist. When I received my materials, only after calling again, over a week later, I discovered that this was not true. I called to cancel and request my full refund of $198. I was told by a lady that she would appreciate the opportunity to call my dentist to see if she would enroll as a provider and the lady would call me back in 5 days. No call.

I called again on July 26 and left a message that I wanted to cancel and wanted a call back. The message said they would call back on Monday, 7/28. No call. I called again on 7/29 and was told that I could cancel but no refund because I was "past the 30 days". I quoted the materials I received that I had 30 days from receipt of the materials to cancel and get a full refund. The young lady stated that they can't be responsible for the US mails and the 30 days started when I signed up. I asked to speak to another individual. I was transferred to Matt who said he would look into the situation and even call my dentist and would call me back on 7/30. No call.

I feel that not only was I given wrong information in order that I sign up but I was subjected to delaying tactics and outright disinformation to preclude my getting my refund of $198. I didn't even as for the refund of the $25 sign up charge. The unethical behavior of this organization must be illegal also. I wonder if they are in violation of federal laws since they use the U.S. Mail to send information?

I am writing this organization and requesting my refund.
