Sexual harassment / Discrimination of Minor Child

I had just finished high school and wanted a job. At my parents recommendation I took a job that would not be to difficult to work with schedule wise since I would be attending college in the fall. I applied at the McDonald's in NewHaven, IN; it had a hiring sign out in the lobby. Once I was hired and working, within a couple days I could plainly see why they had a serious turnover problem. Most of the employees were adult blacks and were allowed to harass the caucasian/American or Mexican employees. I would be asked one minute by an assistant manager to work one station and then later that same person would come back and ask me to move to another station. Later on that same person again would come over and start yelling at me in front of customers saying that I was not supposed to leave my station.

This I delt with; when it got bad was when there were two adult female (black) assistant managers working one afternoon and they allowed two adult male (black) employees to start a 10-15 minute long vulger and harassing conversation about how my body did not fit what they considered to be a good body. The entire staff as well as several customers heard the whole degrading thing and did nothing. This harassing behavior continued for weeks. The final straw was one day when an asian assistant manager (who has black children) asked me to "find something to do" in a snotty manner, after I had just finished serving my last customer. I ignored the behavior and went back to a cooler and had crouched down to get some items for restocking. She then pretended to have need to go past me while I was crouched down there. She intentionally banged against my behind and then started making vulger comments about my "Ass" being so big and fat, etc., etc. Another adult black female chimed in and encouraged her and she continued for several minutes with this talk. I held myself together until I got home and talked to my parents.

It was then they insisted I no longer return and the following morning they called the corporates. This they found to be more than a joke since the individual did nothing about what these people did to me. Then the management followed up by harassing me through phone calls my parents retrieved that the corporates claimed would not be made. "We will mail your check to you and I will ask that no one contact you, blah, blah, blah." I turned in my uniform but yet these bottom dwellers are allowed to do this. What I recognize as making this worse than the typical harassment is that I am a minor and these people are adults; not only doing what legally is sexual harassment but sexual harassment of a minor child. These people obviously think they can/will get away with this because they work for a billion-dollar income corporation and they are minorities. What they did not consider is the fact that although I look caucasion, I am also a minority. I am just not a prejudice one or an ignorant one!!!
