This company has sent me a notice and a 2,900 usd check

I recieved a check in the mail for 2,900 usd from alliance consumer research, with instructions to cash the check and spend 70 usd at walmart, kmart, home depot, or lowes. And then to send 2,600 usd to their office in niagara falls, ny which would cost 130 usd of the funds, I would keep the merchandise bought from one of the retail locations and 100usd cash for myself, I contacted the bank from which the check was sent and they told me there had been charges filed on the account and that it would not clear and that it was a scam. Beware of these two names and dont be fooled when they try to rope you in.
