Some scams are more pathetic than others

The first letter I received from The Secret Society telling me how special I am and that they wanted me to join this Society and receive the 1000 page manuscript made me curious enough to ask for more information. What I received about two weks later was an orientation booklet filled with a collection of memeber stories and the actual sales pitch asking for the $139.00 for the 1000 page manuscript.

Once I received and read this I discarded it. I was told in the first letter that I had to act quickly (just a few days) because I was in that special cycle of my life which would be ending soon. It was related that this was a one time opportunity and I would not receive another invitation. I decided to test that out and sure enough About two weeks later I got hte second invitation to free up my hard earned money to them.

They did, however this time give an address and phone number on the letter
(above supplied address) and a fax number to send the payment. The return address on the supplied envelope was PO Box 6305 Dover, Deleware 19905-6305. I can't imagine how many people sent off the $139.00 but I'll bet some did. What a shame people like this sell their soul for so little by ripping off honest people.
