Slamming $14.95 monthly fee on CC for unauthorized membership sign-up when bought business cards

In the last week of May, I purchased free business cards from VistaPrint.com to which I only paid for S&H and an uploaded picture. At the end of the transaction, a pop-up box asked if I would like to get a $10 rebate. I read the terms and conditions. I opted out of this unsavory matter as I did not want to sign-up for a membership costing me $14.95 a month to be charged to the credit card of my choosing for whatever it was they were selling for which I could cancel at any time by calling or emailing them. I received my business cards in great shape, timing, and to my liking. Wow, I thought, great, I may just use this company again.

Flash foward to today to where I was checking my CC statements and found a transaction for $14.95 to BUSINESSMAX on 6.29.08. This was on a CC that I do not normally use AND I was off on a camping trip for the weekend (which you know you do NOT use CC's in the wilderness)! I searched the internet for Businessmax as I had no clue about the company and found their association with VistaPrint plus the numerous complaints others have had with the same type of problem from them. I called both Businessmax and VistaPrint and they both tried to convince me that I signed up for this. Yea, right. NOT! Both of them said they would cancel the membership and credit my account. I should have a credit on the CC within two business days (we'll see). I also asked VistaPrint to close my account as I do not want to do business with a company that so blatantly disregards a customer's requests.
