National Fitness - Premier Fitness
Lied about misleading potential members to sell memberships

Miscellaneous

I recieved a free month membership to Premier Fitness located in Centerville, OH. I visited Premier in order to use my free month and was told that if I give up my free month I would be eligible to waive the enrollment fee. I was also told that since I am a local college student I would recieve a discounted rate. This sounded to be a nice offer so I accepted and signed up for a membership that day. During the registration process I asked many questions such as: How much will I be paying per month? ; are there any other fees i should be aware of? When will these payments come out of my account? Etc.

I have now been a member of Premier Fitness for a few months and I was charged a "maintenance fee" of $19.98. I was never made aware of this fee. As stated before I asked if there were other charges I should be aware of and I was told no.

When calling the Centerville location to inquire about this charge, I was not permitted to finishign asking my question. I was cut short and then given an answer to a question that was assumed. I asked to speak to the man that sold me my membership and was told that I would have to visit the Middletown location in order to contact him. When I asked for the phone number there I was given that and a long annoyed sigh by woman's voice on the other line.

Once contacting the Middletown location, I spoke with the same gentleman that sold me my membership and was called a liar for accusing him of misleading me and also told that he would have never said this. I told him that I understood that he would not knowingly mislead a potential member and that he may not have understood my question. At this point he sarcastically said he would call their billing office and see if there was anything he could do about it, but that he highly doubted it and I would have to call him the next day to remind him. It wasn't that high on his priority list. I am still awaiting a response.
