Fake lottery check for 3961.00

We received a letter like the many others reported here, that we had won a lottery. Enclosed was a check for 3961.00. We were to send 3600.00 by western union to cover a 'surcharge'.

The letter was from WLGC, Westport Lotto Gaming Corporation, ST. JOHN, Virgin Islands.

The check was from Andrews Distribution Co. Of NorthTexas, Ltd. I checked this company out and they are a legit beer distributer. I believe the con artists are using checks they forged from this company and that andrews dist.Co. Had nothing to do with it.

Anyway, we deposited the check and waited. After 7 business days it came back. But thanks to this website we were not fooled. We deposited it to have further evidence for the postmaster that the check was indeed fake.
