Wheelchair basketball association coupon books $30 scam door-to-door non-profit pyramid scheme

Miscellaneous

Please be warned:

If you were at the grocery store today, you might have been approached by a slimy sales man who tries to sell you a coupon book for $30. He or she will tell you that they raise money for The Wheelchair Basketball Association, but it's really a huge scam that leads you to believe much or all of the money is going to the organization. THE TRUTH IS, YOUR $30 is sent up a pyramid of sleazy bastards that are in charge of the "street team" they assemble and send out to con you into thinking you are donating a large sum to disadvantaged people. I don't believe that more than $2 of that book goes to anyone in a wheelchair. It's absolutely disgusting how people are deceived by the promise of the $30 donation to the Wheelchair Basketball Association by these salesmen, who are just trying to sell the shit out of those books so they can move up the pyramid and sit on their asses and collect money off their own street team of scumbags.

If you have been looking for a job in the past five years, I'm sure you've run across this company's ads on c*builder.com, promising an exciting career in "Sports Marketing and PR." Ring a bell?! Two of my co-workers, including me were duped into going to the interview, where they dropped us off in the middle of a neighborhood or shopping mall and told us to sell those bullshit books and tell people that you're raising money for a good cause. Then they say (in their cheap F*shion Bug and V*lue City suits) "Oh, you're going to be making six figures in a year, " because they're trying to get you to do well so they can be promoted and have you run around town for them. It's a sick and twisted plot where this company is lavishly profiting by name dropping a non-profit organization, donating a small TAX DEDUCTIBLE check at the end of the year and keeping the millions in profits for themselves.

I couldn't be more against someone using disadvantaged people as means to selfishly profit and advance financially. All I can say is, please spread the word about this scam and tell your friends and family to watch out. And, if you're sitting at home and the doorbell rings, and there's some prick standing there in a cheap suit and a J*nsport backpack, make sure as soon as he or she mentions "donation to the Wheelchair Basketball Association, " you tell that person to "GO F* YOURSELF." I just got off of the phone with the manager of Kr*ger in Troy, who I happily informed of the situation going on in her store. Needless to say, those a*s are no longer welcomed at the supermarket chain.
