Tried to con me into giving visa card number for a holiday i had supposedly won

Antonio (prob not his real name) rang me to tell me i had won a holiday in Florida plus a cruise to the Bahama's. He sounded so genuine i was nearly taken in by him. |I come from Ireland and this guy rang me from america and spent nearly an hour describing this wonderfull holiday i was going to go on and all the extra's i was going to enjoy because of my luck.

At first it was just me and a partner but then it went up to four... As long as i didn't mind paying the up front fee of 516 euro's which had to come off my credit card. I laughed at that and politely told him that he would have to ring me back as i hadn't got my card details with me. Well he assured me that he would ring back but never did. The phone number he gave me was false and so was his whole story...

There is a moral story to all this and that is... If it sounds too good to be true well usually it aint. Never give credit card details out over the phone and just because your paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get ya. Always exercise caution. The world is full of con artists that are without morals or feelings so do yourself a favour and don't let urself become a victim.
