Sunoco crude transport and pipe line, ran by the incredibly obtuse. The company appears to be an good job but once you start you will never be moved up in this company, unless you are one of the following: related to some one in management, you are in the right ethnic group (not trying to be a races), extremely lazy, or too stupid to live. The examples I could give of these condition for advancement would fill a book so I will just use one.

There was a supervisor positioning for someone with a college degree, and had experience in this type of field. The job was given to a person that is know to every co worker to falsify time sheets (two hour breaks in the real word, but 30 min. On time sheets), notably did less work than the new guys (or anyone for that mater), late for work every day, just made it through high school, and no college education at all which was a major requirement for the job. This employee was picked over of about 20 actually qualified people. All in all this man is management material.

Around 2000 Sunoco bout out Pride Pipe Line out of Texas just after Pride Pipe Line went bankrupt, and took nearly all the supervisors of Pride and made them supervisors in the Sunoco company, which is probably why they had a layoff of transport drivers in Texas 2 years later. I guess their next move is to employ the executive CEO of Enron.

These examples are just the tip of the iceberg of how thing are managed in this company, so inclosing if your looking for a job with potential and advancement don't go there, your better off joining the army.
