MCM CREDIT how can they get away with this?!

I just got off the phone with most rude person I have ever spoken to. It was a representative from MCM and they were calling me @8:15 am (ET). I was barely out of bed and the prerecorded message was that they needed to speak to me on an urgent business matter. I have received these calls before but because I get so many calls from tellamarketers I usually hang up - not this time.

It clicked over to a man who after a round about informed me his name was mike. The first words out of his mother were not the is mike from mcm it was I need to speak to stacy are you stacy. Well my response was and who are you - Mike-And where are you calling from? - My phone. How totally on professional - so this set me off-I said - if you don't want to tell me were you are calling from then you don't need to know who you are speaking to. I am calling from mcm about your Fingerhut account. We have sent you notices about it.

At this point my head was thinking back how far it was the last time I got anything from fingerhut - that had to be at least 1995-1996. I told him I didn't have a fingerhut account and hadn't for well over 10 years and anything owed fingerhut had been paid off in 1998 when I bought my house. He then informed me these charges were from 2001 which blew me away.

So I asked him for my birthdate instead he gave me the last for digits of my phone number - he didn't have my birthdate. Which I told him was odd because if a company aquires a delinquent account from a place don't they also get your birthdate - (My under lying reason for asking is because there is a girl who lives in my small town with my exact same name only she is about 5 years younger than me - the problems with this never end).

After my questioning of how he didn't know my birthdate he state since I was calling him a scam artist (I never said That) that he would personally make sure that he added it to some data base that would take it from 64 dollars to 1000.00 and the interest would double. He then said my call was recorded and told me I would not hear from them again. Honestly I don't think I ever got anymail. How's that to start the day.
