Outrageous overdraft fees. Over 1 week to notify you when they have your phone / email

My son opened an acount with Compass Bank in Austin. It was his first account anywhere. Apparently he had an overdraft of under $7.00. He was not notified until 8 days later, allowing the bank to charge $38 plus $7 per day.

He called and was told "that's the way we do business". When he asked to speak to the manager, he was put on hold and then hung up on.

I called later in the day and was told the manager was "with a customer". The manager never called back. One more day means more money in their pocket.

My son's credit is worth more than a few dollars, so I wired him the cash to take care of the situation and close out his account. I recommend to anyone to stay away from Compass Bank. They seem to have no concern with customers that are having trouble making ends meet.
