Carthage Mo mother with sick children who needed to go to hospital

My mother called me at work telling me I needed to leave to take my 3 year old to the hospital I told both my managers that I needed to leave. And at first the werent going to let me. I was at the point to where my only option was to walk out and quit. After argueing the finaly decided to let me go telling me about overtime and quite frankly my daughters health is more important to me than overtime. I like my job and i dont want to lose it but if they make me chose between my kids and my work i will choose my kids just like any other mom. I think it is stupidity that to get griped out. Its not the you can pick and choose when your kids get sick. I went from 40 hours a week to 29 hours a week. I have been working there for 5 months and still make only 6.65 dollars on hour. I am always on time. I do my job suffienctly. There is no reason why I should get walked all over.
