Put on my credit report that i owe at&t wireless i have never had an account with them there for i cant get a loan for a ca

I went to try to get a loan for a car. The bank called me and told me that this collection debt was on my report. I knew i never had any accounts with at&t. So there for the bank won't lend me any money. Even though this is the only bad there on the credit report because it is lowering my credit score.
