As a college student, i recieved a knock at my door from a (high-school aged male named (George / Agent # 25). He claimed he was selling magazines for a school function in the area to earn points through magazines sales to help pay for a senior vaction to cancun. I looked at his magazine list, and only agreed to buy one subscription on dec. 03 2007. I only agreed to pay in cash. I asked if it was for the local high school and he said yes.
I was given a receipt (with a CRS number). I read the back of the receipt in his presence. Upon his leaving he told me there would be other kids in the neighbor hood who would come to my door & and he didnt want the other students to bother me. So he played a piece of paper (stating his name and a number) on my door and told me i would not be botherd by any other of his fellow classmate competitors.
It was evening i saw kids walking around. I lost 35 dollars, and have tried to contact the company and ther seems to be no company. Only and address, with no phone number. So i went to this website and i believe this is a scam. Today on Jan. 15 I found this website. I want others to know this i believe is a scam. The high school in this town claims this is not a school related funtion. I would like to make others aware of this scam.
