I have a story about the recruitment tactics of Kirby! The unknowing young salespeople are not to blame for the unethical sales tactics employed by Kirby!
The reason I am writing this today is that my son recently went to work for a Kirby Dealer. He has been working for them for three weeks now, and has been "promised the moon" by the dealer.
It began when he responded to an ad in the paper which read:
"HOLIDAY RUSH, You Found It!!! $1000.00 Sign-On Bonus, Due to massive product demand, our company is looking for 25 people to start IMMEDIATELY! (No experience necessary!), Must be able to start this week, ($600.00 Week), Call Today, Start Tomorrow xxx-xxx-xxxx"
Very enticing to an unemployed young man looking for work!
This was followed with an interview, and being immediately hired! What a boost to an impressionable ego!
Then came the lies... A Salary of $600 a week... Management opportunities... A training bonus of $150... Promotions... Etc. Etc. Etc...
My son worked hard at learning the equipment, giving practice demonstrations, going to real domonstraions... For the last three weeks.
Every week he asked his employer when he was going to get paid. Every week being told, "Not until you..." or "You have to..." or "When you go on five more demo's..."Very disappointing, disheartening, and disillusioning to a young hard working, young man!!!
This brings me to today. I have spent the day researching Kirby's recruiting tactics in support of my sons issue. What I've found has shocked me, the internet has many web site articles on Kirby recruitment, Court documents of Kirby cases, and recent blogs of peole beeing scammed by Kirby representatives!
These Sales Representatives may be your neighbor, your relative, hopefully not you!
