Miscellaneous

On 9/18, my wife, Marie and I attended a Grand Crowne Resorts sale presentation regarding a time share. The presentation included a tour of one of the model units. During the presentation, we were told about a special they were running. For $995.00, we would receive a trial "Options package" that entitled to one week in a one-bedroom condo. The $995.00 was a partial down payment to the cost of the timeshare for $10,000.00. We had (18) eighteen months to use this package.
The saleslady also went over this form (Branson#1), circled the "Fly and Play Retreat" certificate (Branson #2) that entails us to go to selected cities (as indicated on the form). The salestaff lead us to believe we could use this "Options Package" (Branson #1 and fly to any of the cities on the Fly and Play sheet (Branson#2). It sounded good as my wife and I were thinking of using it for Cancun. We decided to pay the $995.00 (see Chase bill).
When I called to book a reservation, I talked to a female named Erin (At least it sounded like that) at 1-866-894-9700. Erin told me the Options Package (#1) was limited to Branson Only. I raised my concern that no where on this "Options package" did it state we were limited to Branson. She stated that that is the policy and I asked about a refund, and was told there were no, per the contract. I agree, we did sign the contract that did state this. I was also informed by this lady, that to inform Grand Crowne Resorts we didn't want to continue and take the Timeshare plan, my wife and I have to go to Branson and cancel in person. Again, nowhere does it state this on any contracts we signed nor was this told to us by any sales staff member. Additionally, I was told the "Options Package" was one package that was separate form the "Fly and Play Retreat" plans. Again, nothing was said to us by the Salestaff. If we knew we'd have to spend $995.00 to spend a week in Branson, then we would never have signed up. We can get others hotels for a fraction of this. We were lead to believe this fee was good for any condo covered by the company.
This entire presentation was a mis-representation of their product. If anyone wants to join me for a class action, please send me your name and we'll see what we can do.
