Unwarranted Ongoing calls

The address for the company as well as the name is from the internet traced by the phone number on my caller id. All contact has been by phone. Nothing in the mail but if they know my cell phone they have my address. I do not know what category to place them under for this list or a topic.

They call me on my home phone and my cell phone at the same time or with in a few moments of each other. This has been going on for months, I have only picked up twice. Both times I get a recording telling me to call them. A few times I have gotten a recording on the machine asking for other people. Once and once only they asked for someone I actually knew. I live alone and am single so it is not me they want. Once I called back and was put on hold, after 5 minutes or so I hung up.

I report them every time but it has done no good. I guess the problem is they are a collection place so they are allowed to do this and the fact that it is not me they want; they just want info on someone else.
I do know that if you have a collection place hounding you for a reason you can FIRE any third party collections by sending them a registered letter of Cease & Desist. I have done this for a friend in the past.

Go to that web address and use this letter. It is free and as I said I have used it. It must be your dept, in my case they do not want me they just want to harass someone into giving them info. Also check your credit reports, chances are if they are calling you they have placed things on your credit report. You get one free report from all reporting agencies each year.
