IMG International
Dishonest and unprofessional

Miscellaneous

I applied to this company online, and I researched them. There is a site that I thought was them, which was imginternational.com - makes sense, right?

Well, I found out later that imginternational.com is a legitimate marketing company, while this Little Rock based marketing company is imgntl.com - operating under the same name as the legitimate company. I guess that isn't uncommon to have two businesses operating under the same name, but it will make more sense more into the story.

I went to their office in the metropolitan building, which is the tallest building in Little Rock. The staff person who gave the application to me greeted me in an AT&T cotton-T, as I shook his hand in my tailored suit. He went back to his office and changed into a suit. I took a look around the office.

Technical equipment on the floor. Skimpily furnished offices. The business cards at the front desk were printed off from a free online design site - which told me that these people were unprofessional.

They told me then that there were three rounds of interviews in which compensation would be addressed in the second -this was the first deception. Earlier, when I had made the appointment, they had told me that compensation would be discussed the day I came to the interview.

I asked what a typical day on the job would look like, and they said they couldn't tell me until the second round. That didn't bode well with me, so I pressed them until I finally asked them "What is it exactly that you do?" (OfficeSpace quote). They answered that they get clients for Quill and AT&T. So I pressed it out of them by saying, "Do you do residential and commercial? -yes - Do you do door to door? -yes-"

It was a fun interview, actually. I rambled on about their company's history, all the while telling about the imginternational.com people. The guy looked puzzled and wondered what I was talking about, but never denied it. Even after that great blunder, they invited me back for a second round. Haha. So fun.

Oh yeah, the interviewers do try to flash their big clients, Quill and AT&T. They call them "the Fortune 500 companies"."We hand off the clients to the Fortune 500" Haha.

So, if you want to have a good time messing with some people, fill out an online application and go see them. It's Megan, Joe, and Josh this time, and they are looking for a "Branch Manager"

If you are not wanting to waste time, or enjoy door-to-door sales for its intrinsic value, please go with a staffing agency or another connection for your job search.

Thanks
