Telephone calls claiming to be from Soc Sec giving you money back for paying taxes ontime

Miscellaneous

I first received phone calls claiming they were from Tax Revenue Service and that I was chosen to be given an award of a $5000.00 grant. They needed my bank info in order to deposit money into it. Then I had to agree to reviewing a health program (a recording) but man insisted that absolutely no money would be deducted out of my account for anything ever.

When I questioned him about recording statements about a $29.95 fee to be debited from my account within 4 days of phone call also a $299.95 fee for a grant processing fee. He kept on insisting to just agree to recorded questions and that no money would ever be deducted from my account. I just had to say yes to questions in order to receive my grant money.

Instead they deducted $29.95 from my account then 2 weeks later they deducted $19.95 for some other program. Both of which caused overdraft fees charged to me by bank and I had to file ACH disputes. Simply because the phone numbers listed on my statement were different than number given by man on the phone to call if any problems, but yet operators answered as National Health Services company.

Once I got that cleared up and closed my account out in September for fear of more charges being charged to my account. They called me again this last week claiming to be from Social Security. The same as they did the other lady who filed a report. That again I would be getting a grant of $5000.00 and they just needed to verify my account information so as to make sure they deposited money into the correct account.

Me like a dummy gave them a different account number. Yet when the lady came on the phone to supposedly verify everything there wasn't any recording but she originally asnwered phone Medical Insurance Records then stuttered and said Social Security that she just needed to verify my account information so as to make sure the money was deposited into the correct account.

However this time they did not go thru a recorded portion wanting you to agree to review of certain programs etc.

Yes they do keep hounding you with phone calls from the exact phone number with the exeption of the last 1 or 2 numbers will be different. The calls have been made as late as 9 or 10 pm Pacific time mind you. They also send you a business card size card with the freegasvouchers.com website to visit to supposedly obtain your free gas coupons.

Only when I visited the site it states in the beginning that you get 1 $10.00 gas coupon for each offer that you partake of and complete. Up to 10 coupons totally = $100.00.

I get mad at my self for yielding to these darn calls. I have decided to just hang up on them the next time they start calling agian. I would advise everyone else to do the same. I found that if I even start listening to them I get hooked into it. So if we don't start listening to them they won' be able to scam us.

If any one has any ideas or knows of any avenues to take so that we can try and stop these con artists I would greatly appreciate it and be glad to join any group fighting them. I will try to find the numbers that they call from so that I can add them to this report later. So people will know what numbers to watch for on their caller ID before answering call as an aid to prevent getting scamed by them any more.

I do know that the numbers start with 800 and usually end in 03 or 04.
