Voyager Career Solutions
Not selective. It's a SCAM! Ripoff

Miscellaneous

I had just graduated from grad school and was hard up for a good paying job. I had some skills, lots of degrees and lots of potential. I had moved to Tennesee with my fiance only to find out that there are far less opportunities here for someone like me than I would have thought. I searched and searched and came across Voyager Career Solutions. It makes it sound like you must be a high level executive in order to go there, but I called. I want to be a high level executive one day.

They said that they "could probably help me." I made an appointment. I live 80 miles from them, it was the summer and I was unemployed. I drove the 80 miles, with no a/c to save on my gas money (since I am unemployed and gas is a rip off too). I sat with someone. She said that I "passed" the first round of selective criteria. She would "love to meet with me again". I drove back, and came again the next week. It was during this time that she made me some kind of file. Explained how she was going to help me with all of their services. I was "a real asset" to any company.

Then, she started in with her scam. She said, "If this were a free service, would you pay for it?" I knew right then that this was going to be a joke. No real headhunters charge any money. They get commission. She said, it doesn't work like that at Voyager, that, in fact, I will "probably gain the fee back with the sign on bonus at my dream job" that they find.

I said, "How much?" Maybe if it hadn't been but a few hundred. Nope. It was upwards of $4000! I cried. I literally cried. I had spent a lot of money to get there, and she thinks I need to pay for their "service". She didn't feel bad though. She kept trying to say that if I just expand my mind, that she could help. She even asked if there were any relatives I could borrow the money from! I left, and told the poor folks in the waiting room filling out papers that there is a huge fee and the secretary told me to get out.

I hope those people left. They even had a Better Business Bureau plaque hanging on the wall! I never paid any money, but I wanted them to pay me back for the gas and time I spent traveling in the 100 degree weather. They KNEW they weren't going to help me. I filed my complaint with the BBB, but I never saw any money. They have since closed down that location. I hope it was due to being a rotten scam!

I hope I can help someone!
