BEWARE Landlord who will rip you off!

Stanley J Medow, of SJM Enterprises has been taken to court on numerous occasions for attempting to rip-off tenants. Living in Florida in the summer creates temperatures 90. The air conditioning unit in my apartment broke, and it took him 8 days to get it repaired. He could not give me a date, time, etc., and would not assist in any way-his words, "Buy a fan". I was forced to move out of the apartment to a friend's home, and he will not reimburse for the time out of the apartment. Now he is posing threats against me, claiming that this entire problem was something that I "should" have noticed, even though it rests behind a closet that only contains the hot water heater and the A/C. He threatened now to charge me for the repairs, but I have done nothing wrong. Further, he promised to be there while the repairs were going on, and since I was not informed of when it would be done, I was still staying at my friends home, and a neighbor watched as the repairs were done. Stanley opened my apartment for the repair people, and then left them alone with no supervision. My neighbor said he watched the apartment all day, and they left my door wide open, and unsupervised at times. They also helped themselves to items in my fridge.

I did nothing to contribute to the breakdown of the A/C, or other problems that occurred because it broke down, and refuse to pay for the damages. If anything, Stanley owes me for the time I could not live in my apartment. I had to employ a lawyer, and this ended up being a greater hassle than I could have imagined. Bottom line, DONT RENT FROM THIS GUY! He has 2 locations in South Florida.
