Bill Heard Chevrolet - Nothing But Gimmicks & Games - Totally False Ads, Orlando

On Aught 4th my son and I went to Bill Heard Chevrolet to purchase a 2007 Silverado that was advertised in the Orlando Sentinel paper. On the top of the ad reads NO GIMMICKS NO GAMES! And below showed the vehicles and sale price with stock numbers. One of the advertised special was the 2007 Silverado, (stock # 7Z120604) denoting the MSRP of $16,740.00 and the sale price of $7,695.00 which I was prepared to pay cash for.in the small print, it stated the following:

All above vehicles are plus tax, tag, title and $699.00 doc fees. Dealer retains all applicable rebates and incentives.

Upon our arrival we showed a salesman the ad and asked to see the truck. Immediately his response was that the truck had already been sold. For a moment I accepted his answer and started to leave. But then I went into the showroom told them that I would be interested in a few of the trucks shown in the morning advertisement. At this time the salesman went and bought the sales manager over to speak to us.

He then explained that the truck that was advertised was on the lot but it was a striped down model, manual transmission without air conditioning. I told him I wanted to see it anyway. The salesman (Michael Fine) showed us the truck and my son test drove it. I told the salesman that I was ready to pay for the truck, so he invited us into his office. We provide him with all the necessary information, and were told that it should only take a few minutes since it was a cash sale. THREE HOURS after I told them I wanted to purchase the truck, the sales manager came back and told us that he could not sell me the truck for that amount and countered offered a much higher amount. Then went on to explain that in order to get that price, it was not only the rebates that the dealer retains, but I must qualify for all incentives as well. At that time I asked to see his boss.

Needless to say, his boss said same thing and showed me a list that had to be twenty incentives that I would have to qualify for and was told there was no way that I could qualify for all of them. I asked his to read the top of the ad: NO GIMMICKSNO GAMES! He told me that he had the right NOT to sell me the truck for the price advertised and told us to pay the higher price or leave.

They could have told us that their advertisements were just a bunch of misleading lies and would not honor the prices in the first five minutes instead wasted nearly four hours of my life. I recommend that you remove Bill Heard Chevrolet dealerships from the dealerships to visit.
