GQ Imports
They will not pay you, its a pyramid scheme

Miscellaneous

This company is a sham company. It is one where promises of salary and advancement are only made, but not kept. They use divide and conquer and brainwashing as their tactics to manipulate starry eyed 20-27 year olds into thinking that this is a company with huge growth potential. This might be true, assuming that you are willing to work for free until you get some people under you to work for free. The second interview consists of "shadowing" a team leader (in his car, so you can't leave) for no pay. They tell you that you are paid for training, but that's definately not the case. YOU WILL ONLY BE PAID COMMISSION ON WHAT YOU SELL! Given that you are not selling high priced items, (the items are low quality, open box, and even damaged), the commission you get paid is an insult. It is a virtual Jamestown (Guyana Tragedy) in this company. They make these poor kids think that they will become management and make big money. They even tell you that they won't explain anything about the details of the company until you become management.

The work day starts at 8:00am, which consists of a brainwashing session. After about 2 hours, and your inventory is loaded into your car, you are sent off into the field to sell cheap goods door to door, even to places that clearly say NO SOLICITING. I went along with this for about 3 days, because even though i suspected that this was an dishonest company, I wanted to be completely sure, so i went along with the game for a few days, asked a few questions to people training me (they were unaware that I suspected dishonest practices, so I asked questions casually).

I would later go on to find out that there is a group of people at this office that came from Connecticut with a "team leader". Poor kids went to another state, and one even dropped out of college to pursue this "career". To make matters worse, these kids live in and pay rent in a house that is owned by the boss of GQ imports, Mike Kriss. He drives around in his fancy mercedes, in order to convince these kids that they can eventually work their way up to his status. It doesn't appear that anyone is making money there, outside of management as i had a better car and clothes than anyone working there, and i never even got any money from them, nor did i have a job.

This highly deceptive firm and others like it must be stopped! Careerbuilder, Craigslist, and other job search engines are bombarded with ads for "entry level promotions company" ads. All you will be doing is selling low quality overstock inventory from places like dollar general. The list of illegal activities going on at this company is endless. We must band together and make sure that this company is driven out of existence.
