Landlord who is a theif. Ripoff

This landlord verbally agreed to pay $300 for a ton of items including a bed, linens, household kitchen items, book case, chairs and tables (a steal if you ask me) along with refunding us a $1100 deposit.instead, she made a bogus claim about having to "spend a lot of time" cleaning our apartment and thusly withheld a staggering $910 for said "cleaning." Additionaly, she never paid the $300 for our items. Therefor she is a thief.

The strangest thing about it is while we were living there, she was a decent landlord. When we moved out, during the walk through, she even mentioned letting us use her as a referral when we move into a new place.

Then ten days later, she turned into the anti-great-landlord, and began threatening us if we tried to call her claiming she would put a restraining order against us. We wanted to settle the dispute in a rational and legal manner, and only called her a handful of times to do just that. She wanted to blame us, accuse us of being bad tenants and paying our rent late (which we NEVER did,) and slander our former referral-worthy reputation.

Now we've moved out of the state, and find it too expensive (plane tickets, staying in town, fees to file a small claims suit, etc.) to try and prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law. But it's not fair and she shouldn't be alowed to get away with this. We know of several other former tenants who are in town and are trying to sue her, but we feel so terribly taken advantage of. She's a bad business woman with extremely bad business sense.
