Gemini Subscriptions - Coast To Coast Circulations
Magazine Subscription Fraud Ripoff

Miscellaneous

About 3 months ago, a guy came into the gas station that I worked at. He was asking about a town near there... Asking if it was a good place to do door-to-door sales, if there were a lot of people in that town, good restaurants to eat at, etc. I told him a little about the town and sold him a pop and bag of chips. He asked me what kind of magazines I liked and I told him gaming magazines. He asked if I wanted to look at what magazines they had to offer, and so I looked through them. I picked out Electronic Gaming Monthly, because I already had a subscription to Game Informer, which I did NOT tell him. I told him I wanted EGM, so he gave me a receipt for to fill out. I filled out my name, address, phone number, and email address. He filled in the subscription part and put in the wrong magazine (Game Informer).

When I told him he put the wrong one down, he told me I had a good eye, which I thought was strange. Why wouldn't I have a good eye when I'm buying something... I hope I would notice if it was something I already had. When he asked how I would be paying, I asked if they could bill me. He said no. I asked if they took credit cards, he said no again, and told me they only accept cash or checks. I told him I didn't think I had enough cash on me, so I wanted to mail them a check, he said that he had to have the check then. Since I was at work, I didn't have my checkbook on me, so I found enough money to pay for it ($59 - $46 for 1 year and $13 for process & handling, a little steep if you ask me, but I thought I was helping someone out). He told me that I could cancel my order within 3 days and even gave me a web address so that I could check up on my order. He said that I would receive my first issue in 6 to 8 weeks after processing and that I would also receive and extra year for free.

After about 10 weeks, I went to the website, which wasn't really anything, and emailed them asking when I would get my first magazine. I never received a reply. I guess I just lost $59, plus the cost of buying each months magazine off the shelf, waiting for my subscription to start, which it obviously never will. Do not fall for this c*p!!!
