Citigroup
Company charges you, to train you and obtain a citigroup license

Miscellaneous

I personally do not support the mentality of any company charging its employees for training and/or obtaining a company-only license. This is the sole responsibility of an honest company.

By doing a job search on the Internet through www.careerbuilder.com, I came across what seemed to be a respectable company. I sent my resume and within a few days I received a call back from a "director" that wanted sharp individuals with good people skills to fill in the needs of the chain she was establishing. I set up an appointment and told my brother and his wife about the opportunity.

My brother's wife told me that her sister was scammed by this group in Dallas TX. She had a three-interview part. She watched videos in one session. Then on the third interview they said everything checks out, now all we need is $800 dollars to create your company license. When she showed disinterest they put on an intimidation tactic by having managers and other individuals take turns entering the room in an effort to convince her to sign up.

When finding out about this I found this website and read the article confirming this practice. I proceeded to call the "director" to cancel the appointment. I explained that I do not support a company charging its employee's for a license. She said OK well I look forward to possibly working with you in the future.

The bottom line: Do not support this dangerous mentality, otherwise we could find other companies using this strategy to offset training costs. This is a rising issue (money wise) because of the trend to layoff employees rather than truly fixing the internal problems of the company's structure.
