Scam, dishonest, liars, rip off, warning, untruthful, beware

A guy came to my door and showed me his badge and information about what he was doing. He gave me a pitty trip about how he really needed to get thes points so he could go on a trip. He told me that if I would just select 2 magazines from his list that he would be at the top of his rank and he would get a bonus for the day. I told him it was my Birthday and our cars are broken down so I really didn't have any money in the bank.

He said not to tell anyone but that since I live in Virginia I would have 3 days to cancel my order, but to please wait until the next day to cancel my order so he will get all of his points. I asked him upfront if it was hard to cancel and he showed me an email address on the reciept and stated that all I would have to do is go to that website and cancel. He also said that it is harder to cancel if I paid with a check so a debit/credit card would be better to use, since it would be easier to cancel!

Well here it is the next day so I went to the website to cancel only to find there is no way of contacting anyone to cancel, and it says the only way to cancel is to send in a copy of your reciept postmarked no later than the 3rd day after your order!

I was completely lied to by this person and now my bank account will probably be overdrawn! I don't have $95.00 for 2 subscriptions. Is there anything I can do about this matter? Maybe I can sue the company for comming on our trailor parks property since it does say nice in clear at the entrance No Siliciting!!! If you have any sugestions please let me know! Avoid this Scam!!!
