Red Line Events, a Division Of Quantum Marketing
Dishonest fraudulent scam unethical

Miscellaneous

I responded to an ad online from this company by submitting an online resume. Within days, I was called in for an interview. Turns out, they were interviewing dozens of unsuspecting people, scamming us all one by one.

For the first interview, which lasted only a matter of minutes, the "owner" wanted to learn about my personality. He said I seemed genuine and immediately asked me in for a second interview. At this point he had explained the philosophy of the company but no details. He said they would be handled later.

For my second interview, I was asked to come in at 8:50 am. I signed a waiver and was then taken out on my all-day "interview" which consisted of observing two other girls try to sell D.A.R.E. T-shirts outside a local PetsMart until 6:00 pm. Since I was so polite, I was recommended for the third interview, which took place back at the "office" later that evening.

For the third interview, I started asking questions. They were all answered but it turns out they were lies. I was told I'd be making hundreds of dollars a week and reaching upper management within weeks, maybe a few months. It sounded like the perfect opportunity. The real catch was that they claim to be marketing for non-profit organizations. (Yeah, barely)

So, I accepted the job (I need marketing experience and I thought this would be). I arrived at 8:15 am and was shown around the "office" which consisted of 4 rooms. I was assigned to the team with the girl from the day before. Once taken out on my first day, which meant selling D.A.R.E. Products outside Advanced Auto Parts all day, I finally got a few questions answered. As it turned out, the job was commission only, no base pay, no vacation, no benefits (they say they pride themselves on not being corporate America), etc. And those promotions and "bonuses" they mentioned are nearly impossible to get and are based on the performances of others, not just yourself, although your pay is based solely on how much you and you alone sell.

Basically, this company just wants cheap labor. Do NOT work for this company!
