I am a student at University of Houston studying Communications and a major in Broadcast Journalism. I was approached on campus by two guys one white the other black. They claimed they were Broadcast Journalism majors (before I told them I was) and they were trying to earn a trip to London for the British Broadcasting Channel. They needed to sell a certain amount of magazine subscriptions in order to get this trip. They claimed they only needed two more orders, so I decided to help them out with them being fellow communications students.

The white guy gave me a story about how he and his mom live near UH and she can be seen walking her dog everyday on a certain street near the university, and how his mom thinks this is a good way for him to meet girls. He was very persistent in getting my number so we could go out sometime. Did not give it to him. They only accept check or cash, and I had no cash on me so I gave them a check.

I never fall for scams, but I thought it was for a good cause for my fellow communications students. Well, now they have my account number, and I after the fact I did some research on this company. To make a long story short, they are scammers.

I called my bank and placed a stop payment on the check that I wrote, and I am sending the receipt and a nasty letter to them in hopes of a refund in case my stop payment expires. They have been sued in and I will file a report with the attorney general. I might even have to shut down my current bank account.

Although I have not heard of them stealing money from people's accounts yet it might be a safe thing to do. Visit their website and look at pics of these people. Most of them look like criminals.
