I had a coupon/ad from Circuit City that states that if you order a product online or by phone, you can pick it up at Circuit City within 24 minutes, or you will receive a $24 gift card. Yeah right! Let me tell you about MY experience.

On 12/11/06 I entered the Bloomington, IL store to purchase a digital camera. I was in a hurry. After 10-15 minutes I could not find anyone to wait on me. I copied down the number of the camera, went to my car and tried to order it with the express pickup option and the 24 minute guarantee.

I figured I could do other shopping and come back to get the camera. I was told (2 separate calls) that I couldn't complete the order"online" and that I had to go to the store to buy it, as it was in stock there.

After explaining again and again, to no available, I went ahead and waited 45 minutes to buy the camera at the store.

I called the 800 number that night to request a $24 card. At first it was denied, then a supervisor (Steve) told me to go to the store to request it, and if that didnt work, call back and I would be sent one. He even gave me a reference number: 903-48-57. I went to the store and, of course, they said that is wasn't there fault and to call their corporate office.

I called back in that same night and after being on hold for 25 minutes, was denied again, referencing IM497165. He told me he would put me on hold for a supervisor. 32 minutes later the phone went dead. I called back. After 7 minutes on hold, I asked for a supervisor. 31 minutes later I got one. After an 8 minute argument I hung up.

I have emailed there customer service department several times. There ongoing denial is based on one thing: I did not place an order. When I try to tell them they refused to take my order for a product they knew was in stock, there reply is: you did not place an oxder. What a joke. I can't even get them to explain WHY they refused my order.

My guess is that Circuit City has NEVER given out a $24 card!
