The last straw ripoff

I wrote once earlier and it has got even nastier. When I spoke to them at my work, I told them I could not talk long due to me not being able to have personal phone calls. She put me on hold and decided to help another customer. Like an idiot I waited. Well she came back and said it would not take 60 seconds. She asked me if I still banked with % Bank and I told her yes and then she asked me to verify last 4 digits of my ssn.

Ok I am a complete dummy. She told me they would freeze my ssn if I did not do anything with this debt. I stated in my last post the options. I went ahead and agreed to a final payment plan. Well later on in the day I was explaining to my father of the situation. Now I know NEVER give anybody any banking or etc information over the phone. My dad called them and was explaining to them about the situation that I do not quite understand.

This lady then told my dad to shut up and listen to her. Ok I might be kind of dumb, NEVER talk to my father that way. I told her I wanted to cancel this whole payment method and I would send them the money by paper check. She got so rude with me and told me that I was a broke % that I never plan to pay them.

Now they got all my information and I can not do anything. I hung up on this woman after talking to me so rudely and she called back 3 times. I finally told her that my lawyer would contact them with any more information. She then said I can not afford this debt and can a broke person like me afford a lawyer. I just told her thank you conversation recorded and hung up on her once again.

We have not heard from them since. I contacted my bank and they said that I can close my account and that was their best advice.

I have read other testomonies and these people need better people skills. If they want money from us, how can they treat and harrass people this way. My father has had serious heart problems and I swear he was going to have a heart attack today.

Can anything further be done on this? I would like to have this debt taken care of, but these people including managers will not let you talk or even get anything across to them.

Oh also I just have the phone number they call from and not no state or even no city.
