Is a ripoff and a lia

We to were fooled by DebtXs's promise to help relieve us of our debts. They told us that they would help negotiate our debts down to as much as 40% of the debt. We would have to save a certain amount in a two year period. We were hestiant to go with them and thought we checked them our throughtly and asked all the right questions. I guess that was nto so now reading all these other complaints. They told us we were to stop making payments and do not talk to the creditors on any terms because it would hamper their negoiation process. We did this for about a year. My husband got laidoff and we took out his 401k money and told DebtXS that we had the money to settle our accounts. We did not hear from them again until we contacted them 4 months later. We kind of let it go by breause I was dealing with my very sick mother. Finally they got one account settled and another month went by and we had to contact them again and they said they would get right on it. Then my mother passed away and I was not up to dealing with all this but we got a letter from a collection agency so we settled that account on our own. Still no help from DebtXS. We contacted them again and they told us that a new law had been passed in July and they could not negotiate through a third party but they would school us on what to say. That never happened. We finally took matters in our own hands and settled the accounts ourselves. DebtXS did nothing for us except mess up our perfect credit. Our credit was fine until we went with them. There is so much more to this nightmare but it all amounts to DebtXS is not what they claim and they are liars and I hope this helps others from making the same mistake. If anyone has any advice on how to get our money back and put this company out of business we would greatly appreciate it.
