In May a nice person came up to my door and started an intelligent conversation on how she was going to change her life. I happened to have wanted several magazines at the time and thought it would be a good idea to buy from someone who was really trying to improve her life.

The sales person had practiced her speech and had the names of all my neighbors memorized... I questioned her on that? Anyway, I was in a hurry and wrote her a check for $143 dollars for a couple of magazines including Men Health and Cosmo.

This is a scam. I have received no magazines. She claimed to live in Warren, Michigan. Exactly where I work. I have a copy of the cashed check. The check went through two separate banks before it got to mine, Bank of America and Fifth Third Bank. I will get to the bottom of this as I have worked for the Small Business Administration in the past. I will be reporting this scam.
