Ripoff Abrased Cornea Severely of Service Animal During Grooming

My Registered California Service Animal was taken to Creekside Pet Resort for grooming. I noted while transporting my dog home he could not open his eye and was in distress. I took my service animal to a licensed veterinarian.

Veterinarian examination revealed a large, three quarters, of entire cornea was deeply abraded. Service animal had to be treated for several days with medication for this injury.

I allege this injury was due to negligence by Creekside Pet Resort. This injury effectively interfered with the performance of my service animal for some time.

Creekside Manager initially failed to inform me of any problem during grooming and later stated: A hair got into your dogs eye and we went in and got it out. I asked why the eye was not irrigated first and there was no response. I asked that the owner contact me. The owner failed to contact me. I contacted the owner after several attempts. He claimed, Your dog hurt his own eye. The terms of our contract are clear that you are responsible for the behavior of your dog while at our facility. I asked owner, "How am I responsible when I place my service animal in your custody for care and I leave while you assume a paid contractual agreement to exercise a duty of care in the proper grooming?" He then hung up on me and would not speak to me again.

I now have an injured service animal due to admitted negligent acts whereby the owner then altered the truth to what he considered something he might wiggle out of.

I have to wonder what might be occurring with other animals at this business?
